A one-day socialist conference
Saturday 22 August
Maritime Union of Australia, 46-54 Ireland Street, West Melbourne (2 minutes walk from North Melbourne station)
Capitalism has produced massive inequality, a cost-of-living crisis, wars and climate devastation. One Nation is surging in the polls, using racism to capitalise on disgust at the political system, echoing the rise of the far right globally. Israel continues its genocide in Gaza, alongside ethnic cleansing in the West Bank and a murderous war in Lebanon. Trump’s war in Iran has killed thousands and threatened global economic catastrophe. But we have also seen resistance. Mass protests chased ICE off the streets in LA, striking port workers in France and Italy have refused to load weapons for Israel. Teachers in the AEU have shown how to fight a weak Labor government - and now health workers, council workers and others are joining them. Join Solidarity for a one-day conference to discuss, debate and arm ourselves with the ideas we need to fight back and win.
