Melbourne Climate Emergency Rally

About 4000 people rallied in central Melbourne on Saturday July 5, addressed by Greens Senator Bob Brown, among others.
According to Friends of the Earth: ‘We want to send a wake-up call to state and federal governments that they are heading in the wrong direction. New coal, new freeways and desalination plants increase our use of and reliance on fossil fuels dramatically at a time when we must be cutting our use even more dramatically.’
The crowd spelt out the words: “Climate Emergency” – see photos.
